COURSE SUMMARY

In 2003, the Prison Rape Elimination Act, or PREA, was introduced to address the problem of rape and sexual assault behind bars. Every institution must have guidelines for the prevention, protection, reduction, and punishment of inmates who commit sexual offenses while in prison. This course details the history of PREA as well as the rules each law enforcement officer must be familiar with and follow to prevent abuse in prison systems.

Each online course is developed from an 8-hour classroom-based curriculum. The average length of our online courses is 90 to 120 minutes.
